PM Presides over a Graduation Ceremony

AKP Phnom Penh, April 10, 2018 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, this morning presided over a graduation ceremony of more than 3,000 graduates of the National University of Management.

The event took place at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh.

The Premier reaffirmed the royal government’s attention to the enhancement of the education sector in the country. Early this month, he called for the modernisation of this sector, especially at higher education level.

Along with the strengthening of capacity and quality of education at higher education institutions, institutional development is also necessary: hi-tech facilities should be installed with qualified lecturers, he underlined, adding that the students themselves also have to strengthen their own capacities even after graduating and being employed.

To date, Cambodia has 115 higher education institutions, 486 high schools, 1,240 lower secondary schools and 7,144 primary schools with a total of some 3 million students.
