Samdech Techo Hun Sen Shares National Development Policies with Workers

AKP, August 23, 2017 –Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen visited here this morning nearly 17,000 workers at Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone.

Speaking at this event, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the Royal Government of Cambodia led by the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) will continue to support and implement the “Three Requests” policy at the international arena to create new jobs and improve the workers’ living standard.

According to the Premier, the “Three Requests” policy includes request for more support to Cambodia’s development, request for more foreign investments, and request for purchase of more Cambodian products.

Meanwhile, Samdech Techo Hun Sen criticised the opposition party that has been implementing three points against the above-said policy, i.e. asking foreign countries not to provide assistance for Cambodia, not to invest in the country, and not to buy Cambodian products.

In order to create more new jobs and enhance the workers’ living conditions, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said CPP will continue maintaining peace, security, and social order; working together to maintain and expand the labour markets; increasing income and knowledge; promoting social protection; and paying attention to Cambodian workers abroad and to creation of more overseas job opportunities.

According to the figures from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, some 11,168 enterprises have been registered at the ministry, generating 1.2 million direct jobs with a total wage of over US$2 billion annually on average, and almost 3 million indirect jobs.
