AKP Phnom Penh, September 12, 2021 -H.E. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, started today his two-day official visit in Cambodia, at the invitation of H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the visit, H.E. Wang Yi will pay a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and have a working breakfast with Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hor Namhong.
The Chinese foreign minister will hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, during which various aspects of bilateral cooperation such as the fight against COVID-19, trade and investment, education, security and national defence, as well as regional and international issues of common interest and concern will be discussed.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen and H.E. Wang Yi, with the participation of Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence and Chairman of Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC), and H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and Vice Chairman of CAMSOC, will preside over the handover ceremony of the Morodok Techo National Stadium which will be the centerpiece venue for Cambodia’s 2023 SEA Games. Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen and H.E. Wang Yi will also witness and preside over the signing ceremony on a number of important bilateral documents.
The official visit of H.E. Wang Yi to Cambodia will further strengthen the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of cooperation between the two countries in the midst of current global challenges. By C. Nika
