S. Korea Lauds Cambodia’s Active Role in Promoting Their Bilateral Relations

Phnom Penh, February 05, 2020 –The Republic of Korea (ROK) has spoken highly of the active role of Cambodia in boosting the relations between the two countries in the bilateral and multilateral frameworks, stressing that Cambodia is a reliable friend.

The appreciation was made by ROK’s Prime Minister H.E. Chung Sye Kyun while hosting a working lunch for Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen in Seoul, ROK on Feb. 5, according to a special report of the National Television of Kampuchea (TVK).

The South Korean Premier lauded Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s initiative on the creation of Mekong-ROK Summit and admired his leadership in leading Cambodia toward the current development.

H.E. Chung Sye Kyun also reaffirmed the ROK’s commitment to continue supporting Cambodia’s development and to assist the Kingdom in successfully organising the 13th ASEM Summit later this year.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his satisfaction with the progress in the relations and cooperation in all areas between both countries.

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Korea established their diplomatic ties in 1997.
