Phnom Penh, January 21, 2020 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this afternoon at the Peace Palace visiting Chief of Army of Singapore Major-General Goh Si Hou.
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Premier, in the meeting, Gen. Goh Si Hou noticed the current progress of Cambodia thanks to full peace, which is an indispensible factor for the Kingdom’s long-term development.
Major-General Goh Si Hou also briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the result of his bilateral meeting with his Cambodian counterpart, Gen. Hun Manet, aiming at further boosting the military cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
For his part, the Prime Ministre welcomed the outcome of the meeting and encouraged both sides to share experience and information, and to conduct joint military training.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen laid stress on major roles and obligation of the Cambodian armed forces, not only in defending the nation, but also in taking part in cultivation, emergency rescue during disasters, and peacekeeping missions under the UN umbrella.
Besides, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underscored Cambodia’s commitment to turn the borderline with the neighbouring nations into an area of peace, friendship, cooperation and development, and the former battlefields into market areas.
