PM Hun Sen Highlights Government Policy of “One Province, One University”

Phnom Penh, December 11, 2019 –The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) has been paying high attention to improve the access to education at all levels as well as to enhance the education quality.

For higher education, the RGC has set forth the policy of “One Province, One University”, underscored Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen at the graduation ceremony of nearly 7,000 students of the Cambodian University of Specialties held here at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre this morning.

According to the Premier, the provinces that have already had a university are Thbong Khmum, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Kratie, Svay Rieng, Prey Veng and so on.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled the revival of the education sector after the collapse of the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime in 1979 based on the policy of “Those who know most teach those who know less, and those who know less teach those who know nothing”.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister took the opportunity to encourage all universities, both in the capital and province, to continue strengthening their education quality and all students to use their knowledge and skills to serve the nation’s, their families’ and their own interest.
