Cambodian PM Supports Minebea’s Investment in Cambodia

 Phnom Penh, December 12, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here yesterday afternoon visiting President and Chief Executive Officer of Minebea Mitsumi Inc., Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, during the courtesy visit, Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen about the progress of Minebea’s investment in Cambodia.

Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma said Minebea’s investment capital in Cambodia rose to US$400 million this year, up from US$372 million in 2018. Its products have been diversified from motors and electronic devices and components to toys with “Made in Cambodia” label and smart light bulbs, and its workers reached now 7,000 and will increase to 20,000 in the near future, he added.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated Minebea on its achievements and progress, and shared his pride over the production of toys and smart light bulbs in Cambodia.

The Prime Minister expressed thanks to Minebea’s social activities and highlighted the reform commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia in reducing the production cost and logistics cost.
