Cambodia, Bulgaria Vow to Tighten Bilateral Cooperation

Phnom Penh, October 16, 2019 –Cambodian and Bulgarian leaders expressed their commitment to enhance more cooperation between the two countries in different fields.

 

According to the National Television of Kampuchea (TVK), the commitment was made during the tête-à-tête and bilateral meetings between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his Bulgarian counterpart H.E. Boyko Borissov, in Sofia, Bulgaria this afternoon.

The two Premiers showed their satisfaction with the good ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations and were determined to boost their relationship, particularly in the fields of tourism, culture, education, and so on. They also exchanged views on international issues of common interest.

The two Prime Ministers voiced their support for the establishment of relations between Cambodian and Bulgarian legislative body. According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Cambodian National Assembly has just formed Cambodia-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group to facilitate dialogue and cooperation between both National Assemblies.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen took the opportunity to thank the Bulgarian side for its assistance to Cambodia, especially after the collapse of the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, and to invite H.E. Boyko Borissov to pay an official visit to Cambodia at his appropriate time, and the latter accepted the invitation.
