Cambodia, Czech Leaders Committed to Boost More Cooperation

Phnom Penh, October 14, 2019 –The Heads of Government of Cambodia and Czech Republic today expressed their firm commitment to deepen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of politics, economy, trade, tourism, health, and agriculture, according to the National Television of Kampuchea (TVK).

 

The commitment was made during the tête-à-tête and bilateral meetings between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and his Czech counterpart H.E. Andrej Babis, during the former’s official visit in the Czech Republic on Oct. 13-14, 2019.

In the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled the historical relationship between both countries, Czech Republic’s support for Cambodia after the collapse of the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, and H.E. Andrej Babis made his remarks on peace, stability, and development of Cambodia.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Andrej Babisalso also exchanged their views on regional and international issues of common interest and agreed to mark the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between both nations in 2021.

After the bilateral summit, the two governments signed two key documents on bilateral cooperation – memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Cambodian Ministry of Health and VAMED, Czech health implementing agency, and memorandum of understanding between Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Czech Chamber of Commerce.
