Phnom Penh, August 21, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this afternoon at the Peace Palace visiting Parliamentary H.E. Norikazu Suzuki, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
According to H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, the visit is another step to further expand and strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Japan.
In the meeting, H.E. Norikazu Suzuki thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for the warm welcome, saying that this is his first visit to Cambodia after he was nominated to this post.
The Japanese vice foreign minister recalled Japan’s assistance to Cambodia, especially in physical infrastructure construction and rehabilitation, clean water supply and ancient temple restoration.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to the Government and the people of Japan for their contribution to the reconstruction and development of Cambodia.
The Cambodian Premier also highlighted the increasing Japanese investments and tourists in Cambodia and Japan’s assistance in other fields besides the above-said sectors, such as port development, human resource training, transport system in Phnom Penh capital, and so on.
