Phnom Penh, May 28, 2019 — Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, and his spouse departed here this morning for the official visits in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from May 28 to 30 and in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic from May 30 to June 1.
The visits are made at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and his Lao counterpart H.E. Ms. Pany Yathotou.
According to an announcement of the NA General Secretariat, during his stay in Vietnam, Samdech Heng Samrin will have a bilateral meeting with H.E. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and pay courtesy calls on H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of Vietnam, and H.E. Tran Thanh Man, President of Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The Cambodian NA president will also receive President of Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association H.E. Vu Mao.
Both sides are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding to strengthen and expand the relations and cooperation between the two NAs and the two NA General Secretariats.
For his visit in Laos, Samdech Heng Samrin will hold talks with Lao top leaders including NA President H.E. Ms. Pany Yathotou, and H.E. Bounnhang Vorachith, President.
The General Secretariats of the two NAs will also meet to exchange their experience so as to further deepen their cooperation.
