Phnom Penh, May 01, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning joined the celebration of the 133rd anniversary of International Labour Day with some 3,700 workers and employees of Yi Da Manufacturer Co., Ltd. located in Chheuteal commune, Kean Svay district, Kandal province.
On the occasion, the Premier along with many government members danced and had solidarity lunch with the workers and employees in a close and happy atmosphere.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked China-invested Yi Da Manufacturer Co., Ltd. for providing venue for the gathering and the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training for organising the celebration.
Last year, Samdech Techo Hun Sen celebrated this annual event with factory workers and employees at Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone.
Yi Da Manufacturer Co., Ltd. began its operation in Cambodia in 2015 and employs now some 3,700 workers and employees, of them 2,803 are women, with a monthly wage from US$220 to US$280 each.
There are currently over 1,500 factories in Cambodia, most of which are garment and footwear factories, and more than 156,890 handicrafts and small and medium enterprises, generating more than 1 million jobs.
