Cambodian PM Meets Vietnamese Counterpart

Phnom Penh, May 03, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, met yesterday evening with H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The meeting took place in Hanoi upon the Cambodian Premier’s arrival in Vietnam to attend the funeral of late H.E. Le Duc Anh, former President of Vietnam who passed away on April 22 at the age of 99.

According to a special report of the National Television of Kampuchea (TVK), H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc on behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam thanked profoundly Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his presence at the funeral of late H.E. Gen. Le Duc Anh.

For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister said his presence at the funeral reflects his respect toward late H.E. Gen. Le Duc Anh as well as the good neighbourliness between Cambodia and Vietnam.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also recalled late H.E. Gen. Le Duc Anh’s key contribution to liberate Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime in 1979.

Besides, both leaders exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of common interest.
