In 2015, when addressing the opening of the Boao Forum, Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping proposed a conference to be held to promote dialogue among various Asian civilisations, boost regional understanding and enhance cooperation.
During this first conference themed “exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilisations and a community with a shared future”, delegates from different countries will exchange their views on multiple platforms. Media organisations, cultural and religious groups and NGOs will also join the conference.
The conference will have an opening ceremony and six parallel forums. Asian cultural carnivals, Asian civilisation week and an Asian food festival will also coincide with the conference.
Leaders from Asia and elsewhere, directors from relevant international organisations and some delegates from cultural and humanity sectors will attend the conference. By C. Nika
