Phnom Penh, April 27, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia paid a visit to the headquarters of the Bank of China (BOC) in Beijing yesterday afternoon, on the sidelines of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
The Cambodian Premier was warmly welcomed by the management of BOC which was established for more than 100 years and has now over 60 branches all over the world, including Cambodia, employing more than 400,000 staff.
On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke highly of the strong bond and cooperation between Cambodia and China and of the key role of BOC in encouraging Chinese companies to invest in Cambodia, mainly in the fields of physical infrastructure, hydropower and so on.
After the visit, Samdech Techo Prime Minister witnessed the signing ceremony of three cooperation agreements between the Royal Government of Cambodia and BOC.
The Kingdom of Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China established their diplomatic relations on July 19, 1958. Their bilateral cooperation has been so far strengthened and expanded and then upgraded to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation on Dec. 13, 2010. By C. Nika
