Phnom Penh, January 16, 2019 –Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received visiting Russian Federation Council Deputy Chairman H.E. Ilyas Umakhanov, in Siem Reap provincial city this morning, on the sidelines of the 27th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-27).
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, assistant to the Cambodian Premier, H.E. Ilyas Umakhanov highly valued the successful organisation of APPF-27 and the official launching ceremony of the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) in Siem Reap province.
In Russia, H.E. Ilyas Umakhanov pointed out, this year is considered as the Cambodian cultural year, therefore his delegation will do its best for the success of the cultural year in contribution to promoting the relations between both countries.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the Russian delegation for their participation in the two above-said events. The Premier lauded the Cambodia-Russia relations and the latter’s assistance to Cambodia, especially during the difficult time, after the Khmer Rouge regime.
Russia has also contributed to the development of various fields, including health and human resource development, recalled Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
