Phnom Penh, December 28, 2018 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning at the Peace Palace visiting Minister of National Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam H.E. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich.
During the courtesy meeting, H.E. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich spoke highly of Cambodia’s achievements under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and expressed his congratulations to the Premier on the victory of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) in the July National Election as well as the success of the 41st Convention of the CPP’s fifth-term Central Committee.
The Vietnamese defence minister briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the outcome of his bilateral talk with his Cambodian counterpart, Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, by highlighting the good and successful cooperation between both countries’ armed forces in 2018 and their cooperation plan for 2019.
For his part, Samdech Techo Prime Minister welcomed the outcome of the bilateral meeting and the agreement reached by both sides, and encouraged them to foster their cooperation in disaster management, including drought, flood, forest fire, disease outbreak and so on.
The Cambodian leader also thanked the Vietnamese side for its assistance to build an office building of the Ministry of the National Defence of Cambodia, and extended his best wishes to H.E. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich on the International New Year.
H.E. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich has been on a three-day official visit in Cambodia since Dec. 27.
