Phnom Penh, December 19, 2018 –His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, departed here this morning for a three-day royal state visit to Vietnam, until Dec. 21, at the invitation of the Government of Vietnam.
His Majesty the King was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of Senate; Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly; Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister; and many other high-ranking officials and royal family members as well as Ambassador of Vietnam to Cambodia, H.E. Vu Quang Minh.
According to a royal message, during his stay in Vietnam, the Cambodian monarch will visit Hanoi and Da Nang city.
Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum will be the Acting Head of State during the absence of His Majesty the King, it added.
The state visit is made after the official visit of Samdech Techo Hun Sen to this neighbouring country early this month.
Cambodia and Vietnam established their diplomatic ties on June 24, 1967.
