Cambodian PM Leaves for Hanoi to Pay Homage to Late President of Vietnam

AKP Phnom Penh, September 26, 2018 —A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen departed here this morning for Hanoi, Vietnam to pay his last tribute to the late Vietnamese President H.E. Tran Dai Quang who passed away on Sept. 21, 2018.

The Premier is accompanied by Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.E. Mrs. Men Sam An, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, and a number of senior officials of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

According to H.E. Sry Thamrong, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, after arriving in Hanoi, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will proceed to the funeral site where he will pay homage to late H.E. Tran Dai Quang and meet with Vietnamese leaders as well as members of the bereaved family.

After that, he added, in the afternoon before returning home, Samdech Techo Prime Minister will hold a bilateral talk with his South Korean counterpart H.E. Lee Nak-yeon to discuss the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier, on Sept. 21, 2018, Samdech Techo Hun Sen sent a letter of condolences to His Vietnamese counterpart, H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, expressing great sadness on the passing of H.E. Tran Dai Quang, which is a huge loss of a leader who was devoted to promoting the wellbeing of the people of Vietnam and the relations of fraternal friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
