AKP Phnom Penh, August 28, 2018 — Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has encouraged the Chinese investors to focus their investment on four Cambodian priority sectors – human resources, road, electricity, and water.
The Premier made the encouragement while receiving here this morning at the Peace Palace 72 leading Chinese businessmen in Cambodia and from Shanghai and Hainan in different sectors (real estate, finance, iron, industry, transportation, energy, electronic compliances…) led by Oknha Pong Khieu Se, President of the Association of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia and President of Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC), H.E. Sry Thammrong, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister told reporters after the meeting.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also briefed them on the current political atmosphere, the Royal Government’s reform programme, investment environment, and other potential sectors.
The Chinese investors expressed their appreciation and confidence on political stability of Cambodia and the strong relations between Cambodia and China. They also congratulated Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the victory of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party in the recent National Election.
Records from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) show that Chinese investments in Cambodia were valued at some US$20 billion.
