Samdech Techo Gives Two Gifts to His Compatriots

AKP Phnom Penh, August 01, 2018 —Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen announced here this morning two gifts for his compatriots to mark this successful year of political and socio-economic development.

Addressing to the media during his first public appearance after the election at the inauguration ceremony of water-taxi service stations and operation, Samdech Techo Hun Sen announced the free ride of taxi boat from Prek Pnov, in the northern part of Phnom Penh to Takhmao town in Kandal province and of passenger train service from Phnom Penh capital to Poipet and vice-versa until January next year.

These are the gifts to celebrate this year which is the year of political and socio-economic success in Cambodia, underlined the Premier.

The Prek Pnov-Takhmao public water transportation service was put into temporary use from April 6 to Aug. 1 using four boats which can carry up to 60 passengers with an average speed of 40 kilometres per hour and duration of less than one hour for the 25-kilometre-long route. It is open for the public from 5:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The over-380-kilometre Phnom Penh-Poipet railway, known as the Northern Line, crosses Phnom Penh city and the provinces of Kandal, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, and Banteay Meanchey. It was put into a temporary use after its renovation work was completed early last month.
