Samdech Techo Hun Sen Prime Minister Congratulates 1,630 Young Teachers

AKP Phnom Penh, March 22, 2018 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen expressed here this morning sincere congratulations to 1,630 students who have just graduated from the National Institute of Education.

Those successful students would be recruited as teachers or officials at the Ministry of the Education, Youth and Sports.

In his remarks at the graduation ceremony, Samdech Techo Hun Sen wished more success to the graduates and highly appreciated the achievements of the National Institute of Education, which was once just a training school, but now became a national institute contributing significantly to human resource training in the country.

The Premier also thanked all teachers for their contribution to the progress of the education sector, stressing that this sector remains a key priority for the national development.

According to its website, the National Institute of Education provides both pre- and in-service training. For pre-service training, the institute has been offering the training of High School Teachers Specialised Subjects, Lower Secondary School Teachers Specialised in French-English, Master of Educational Management, Educational Inspectors based on New Inspection System (systemic inspection), and School Principals Training.

For in-service training, the institute has been conducting ongoing training for existing Educational Inspectors on the Systemic Inspection, training for High School Teachers on contents and teaching methodology, skills in laboratory science, training for Education Administration Officials for Provincial levels on Educational Planning throughout the country, and training for High School directors on New Inspection System.
