Cambodia, South Korea To Expand Bilateral Cooperation

AKP Phnom Penh, February 19, 2018 – Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have pledged to further tighten and expand their bilateral cooperation in the areas of investment, trade, and tourism.

The commitment was made by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia H.E. Oh Nak-young, here at the Peace Palace this morning, H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters after the meeting.

H.E. Oh Nak-young conveyed greetings from H.E. President of South Korea to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and lauded Cambodia’s remarkable progress in terms of trade, economy and investment compared to the year 2003 when he came to work in the Kingdom.

The new South Korean diplomat reaffirmed his commitment to promote the cooperation between the two countries based on the existing relations and in the framework of bilateral ties, ASEAN, and Mekong Sub-Region.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated H.E. Oh Nak-young on his appointment as Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia and agreed with the new diplomat over the strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation, mainly in the fields of investment, trade and tourism.
