AKP Phnom Penh, December 20, 2017 –The agreement on the cooperation on projects of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund with total budget of US$ 7,315,908 for the implementation of 16 Cambodian projects for the first batch of projects will sign tomorrow.
According to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, this agreement will sign tomorrow by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Senior Minister and Minister of MFA-IC.
Those projects are including: Buddhist Development Program of Cooperation and Workshop on Effectiveness of Management of Theravada Buddhism in the Countries along Mekong River; Lancang-Mekong Training of Trainers (TOT) Workshop and Publication of the ASEAN Community-Based Tourism (CBT) Standards; Addressing Land Degradation and Improving Local Livelihood through Sustainable Land Management; Forest Restoration and Promotion of Sustainable Forest Use in Southeast Asia; Promoting and Effective Regional Strategy for Combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregistered (IUU) Fishing in the Mekong Countries for Sustainable Fisheries Management in the Mekong Region; Mekong-Lancang ICT Volunteer; Air Connectivity Enhancement Study in Cambodia-Lao, Myanmar and China; Enhancing Research and Dialogue on Contract Farming in Lancang-Mekong Countries; Integrated Community Development along Mekong River; Poverty Reduction through Rural Economic Development in Cambodia; the Lancang-Mekong Symposium on Small and Medium Cultural Enterprises (SMCEs); Preventing the Theft, Clandestine Excavation, Illicit Import and Export of Cultural Property through Lancang-Mekong Region; Water Quality Monitoring System at Mekong Mainstream and Information Center Installation; Joint Research and Technology Development in the Risk Evaluation, Monitoring and early-warning of the Three Typical Vector-borne Tropical Diseases, namely Dengue, Schistosomiasis and Angiostrongylosis in Cambodia; Enhancing China-Mekong Research and Policy Dialogue Program; and Supporting Program for Scholarship Opportunities to Poor Students to Study in the Field of Science and Technology in China.
It should be noted that under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund framework, those projects have been approved during the 3rd Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Dec 15, 2017 in Dali, China.
