Praying Ceremony for Happiness to Cambodia Starts

AKP, December 02, 2017 – The two-day Praying Ceremony for Happiness to the Kingdom of Cambodia kicked off this afternoon at the well-known Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province.

This traditional event was presided over by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen.

The event began with Krong Porly and Blessing ceremony during which Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittbandit as well as other participants including parliament members, government officials, and local residents got the blessing from Buddhist monks.

After that, all participants, the general public and foreign visitors can enjoy various art performances, such as traditional show and dancing by the Department of Performing Art, Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and music performances organised by a local TV station.

Tomorrow, there will be the praying ceremony along with a lucky drum performance – traditional dancing for praying to the souls of the ancestors and the holy objects in the world – followed by food offering to 5,000 Buddhist monks.
