AKP, October 03, 2017 –Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the Cambodia’s National Assembly (NA) and of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), has recently received H.E. Mian Raza Rabbani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the APA 1st Executive Council Meeting hosted by Cambodia from Oct. 1 to 4 here in Phnom Penh.
H.E. Mian Raza Rabbani spoke highly of the successful leadership of Samdech Heng Samrin during his two-year tenure as APA president, especially in strengthening the body’s role in enhancing solidarity and cooperation among peoples of its member countries in order to ensure peace in the region as well as the world.
Moreover, the Pakistani senator appreciated the Cambodian NA for its endeavours in organising the 8th and 9th APA Plenary Sessions and meetings productively in 2017.
Samdech Heng Samrin expressed his satisfaction of good cooperation between Cambodia and Pakistan, including that of the legislative bodies.
Pakistani Parliament, the NA president underlined, always supported Cambodia well during its APA presidency mandate.
Samdech Heng Samrin was optimistic that Pakistani Senate will continue assisting the APA operation after Cambodia has completed its mandate as APA president in a near future.
