On the afternoon of 28 August 2026, at the Peace Palace, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a delegation of the 2nd Conference of Speakers of Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (ISC-2), led by H.E. Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani, President of the Senate of Pakistan and Founding President of the ISC for a working meeting.
During the meeting, the Head of the ISC Delegation praised and highly appreciated Cambodia for successfully hosting the ISC-2. He emphasised that the ISC platform was established based on the concept of peace, stability, and development, while upholding respect for international law, including the Charter of the United Nations, with the aim of contributing to peace and security in the region and the world. The Head of the Delegation also highlighted the importance of strengthening diplomatic relations and promoting exchanges of visits between legislative bodies to contribute to peacebuilding and the maintenance of peace and stability.
In response, Samdech Thipadei expressed his gratitude to all delegates for attending the ISC-2 conference in Cambodia. He underscored the important role of legislative institutions in complementing the work of executive bodies in building relations and cooperation within bilateral and multilateral frameworks. Samdech Thipadei emphasised that peace is essential to development. On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei shared Cambodia’s experience in successfully bringing an end to war and achieving full and historic peace throughout the country through the “Win-Win Policy” of Samdech Techo Hun Sen. He stressed that Cambodia clearly understands the value of peace and desires to live in lasting peace with all neighbouring countries.
Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei briefed the delegation of the ISC-2 on the latest developments concerning the Cambodia–Thailand border situation. He reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment and position to pursuing a peaceful resolution of the Cambodia–Thailand border issue on the basis of international law and in accordance with the existing conventions, treaties, and agreements between the two countries.
