Statement of Information: The Ministry of Interior would like to inform the public that on this day, November 14, 2025, Thai medias reported that no Cambodian citizen died in the incident which Thai soldiers opened fire on residents of Prey Chan village, Ou Bei Choan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, on November 12, except for the three victims who are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
The Ministry of Interior would like to clarify that the Thai armed forces opened fire using several rounds from long-barreled M16 rifles on Cambodian citizens in Prey Chan village, resulting in one death and three serious casualties.
The deceased victim’s name is Dy Nai (known as Sal), male, 36 years old, residing in Prey Chan village. The results of the autopsy examination by the Cambodian specialized authorities found that: on the head of the deceased, there was an abrasion (laceration) on the facial skin measuring 5 millimeters; on the torso, there was one elongated penetrating wound on the upper left chest, measuring 2 by 3 centimeters, with a trajectory slanted into the torso from left to right; and there was one bullet lodged beneath the skin over the right ribcage on the posterior side.
The medical committee surgically removed the bullet in the presence of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT).
