Samdech Techo Hun Sen departure for an official working visit in Japan

AKP, August 06, 2017 –A Cambodian high level delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen left here this morning for a four-day official working visit in Japan, at the invitation of the Government of Japan.

The premier was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng and many other high-ranking officials as well as representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia.

According to a recent press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation, during his stay in Japan from Aug. 6-9, 2017, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will pay a courtesy call on His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister will hold a summit meeting with H.E. Shinzo Abe, Japanese Prime Minister, and before proceeding to a Joint Press Announcement, the two Prime Ministers will preside over the signing ceremony of two documents on Japanese assistance to Cambodia – a Grant Aid of Yen 3,948 million, approximately US$35 million for the implementation of the Project for Flood Protection and Drainage Improvement in Phnom Penh Capital City (Phase IV), and a Concessional Loan of Yen 23,502 million, approximately US$209 million for implementing the Sihanoukville Port New Container Terminal Development Project.

Besides, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will also receive separate courtesy calls by representative of Japan-Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Association, Japan-Mekong Parliamentary Friendship Association, Japan External Trade Organisation and four Japanese companies.

At this opportunity, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will deliver a keynote speech at the Seminar on Investment opportunities in Cambodia organised by Japan-Cambodia Association, visit Waste Disposal Facility, and take a test ride on Automated Guideway Transit (AGT). He will also meet with Cambodian students who are studying in Japan.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister was accompanied by H.E. Aun Porn Moniroth, Senior Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance; H.E. Ouk Rabun, Minister of Rural Development; H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism; and other members of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
