AKP Phnom Penh, January 10, 2018 –The trade exchange between Cambodia and Thailand are believed to further increase through connectivity cooperation and opening of more border gates.
The optimism was made by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his visiting Thai counterpart Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha during their meeting here this afternoon at the Peace Palace, on the sidelines of the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Leaders’ Meeting, H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters after the meeting.
The two-way trade between the two neighbouring nations reached US$5.5 billion in 2017, up 10 percent from the previous year.
Regarding the 2nd MLC Leaders’ Meeting, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha expressed his strong belief that the meeting, hosted by Cambodia, will be held successfully.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen warmly welcomed and thanked the Thai premier and his entourage for their presence at the 2nd MLC Leaders’ Meeting, which will contribute to the success of this meeting.
