His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister receives Japanese scholarship awardees

On 10 July 2024, His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a courtesy call by 25 Cambodian awardees of the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) for PhD and Master Degrees from 14 ministries and institutions.

On that occasion, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his congratulations to the 25 awardees and encouraged them to study hard and return with in-depth knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of the nation. His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister advised the awardees to be fully aware of Cambodia’s identity, history and culture to promote Cambodia’s image and culture to the host and foreign students in Japan. His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister also motivated the awardees to learn about the history and culture of Japan to deepen the good friendship and relations between Cambodia and Japan. In conclusion, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister encouraged the awardees to help and support each other, as the old saying goes, “In the house, everyone has a different mother, but in the jungle, everyone has the same mother.”

The awardees expressed their deepest gratitude to His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister for providing meaningful advice and also expressed their commitment to studying hard to obtain extensive knowledge of their expertise to contribute to the socio-economic development of Cambodia.
