PM Hun Sen: COVID-19 Issue in Cambodia Under Control

Phnom Penh, March 17, 2020 –COVID-19 issue in Cambodia is under control, the main problem is fear, not that disease, underlined Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, while receiving H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki, President of Japan-Cambodia Association, at the Peace Palace this morning.

The Cambodian Premier also reassured the existing and new investors in Cambodia not to worry because The Royal Government has been taking preventive measures and already set a plan to tackle this pandemic even though it exists in a short or long term.

For his part, H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the general situation of COVID-19 in his country and spoke highly of Cambodia’s humanitarian response to the issue of Westerdam cruise ship with some 2.000 passengers and crewmembers, including Japanese nationals, on board.

H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki brought with him a group of Japanese investors who are interested in investing in Cambodia in the areas of road infrastructure construction, body wash production, trade, and so on.
