Cambodia Reaffirms Good Relations with All Countries, Not Only China

Phnom Penh, February 26, 2020 –The Head of the Royal Government has reaffirmed the good cooperation of Cambodia with all foreign countries for sustainable development and progress of the nation.

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen reiterated the Cambodian foreign policy at the inauguration ceremony of the 174-kilometre-long National Road No. 58 from Poipet city of Banteay Meanchey province to Samrong city of Oddar Meanchey province, held in Poipet this morning.

In response to some criticisms over the close relationship between Cambodia and China, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined that Cambodia has strengthened its good relations and cooperation with not only China, but with all foreign nations.

According to the Cambodian Premier, this year marks the 10th anniversary of Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation. Besides China, Cambodia has had comprehensive cooperation with Japan and some other countries, he added.

Moreover, he continued, Cambodia has maintained good cooperation with the U.S and other nations around the world.

Cambodia-China cooperation reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnership in December 2010, while that of Cambodia and Japan was upgraded to strategic partnership in 2013.

Currently Cambodia has established diplomatic relations with more than 100 foreign nations.

Recently, Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed that Cambodia will continue to strengthen the existing friendship, cooperation and partnership with all friendly countries, to restore the relationship with old friends, and to seek to build good relationship with new friends, especially in Eastern and Central Europe, Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
