Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Longest-serving Prime Minister in the World

 Phnom Penh, December 16, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia has been recognised as the longest-serving Prime Minister in the world.

At the graduation ceremony of 2,588 students of the University of Health Sciences held here at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said six world leaders have been recorded, and one of them is him.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the current Prime Minister of Finland is named the youngest female Prime Minister in office at the age of 34, while Prime Minister of Malaysia H.E. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, 93, the oldest Prime Minister. The richest Prime Minister is former Prime Minister of Italy, the shortest-serving Prime Minister is former Prime Minister of Australia who had stayed in office only for seven days, the longest-serving Prime Minister is him, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and H.E. Anwar Ibrahim is the longest presumptive Prime Minister.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen continued that if there is such a record, he could be the longest-serving Prime Minister because he became Prime Minister of Cambodia since he was 32 years old. He will mark the 35 years in power on Jan. 14, 2020.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled that he became Minister of Foreign Affairs when he was 27 years old, then two years later, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and at the age of 32 years old, he became the Prime Minister until now.
