SMEs Encouraged by the Royal Government

Phnom Penh, December 15, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has highlighted the Royal Government’s commitment to boost the development of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the country.

At the opening ceremony of the 14th Cambodian and Import-Export Goods Exhibition 2019, held here at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre this afternoon, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underscored the Royal Government’s sub-decree on tax incentive for SMEs to be implemented with the intention of boosting the development of SMEs.

The move is aimed to create jobs and improve the local production capacity in certain priorities such as agriculture, agro-industrial productivity and food processing, research and development of information technology, and so on, he said.

“The Royal Government has provided them with the exemption of profit tax for five years, of prepayment of profit tax and minimum tax during the exemption of profit tax as well as deductible expenditure incentive,” stressed the Premier, calling on the SMEs throughout the country to seize this opportunity and try their best to use up what the Royal Government has provided for them.
