Phnom Penh, December 11, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has praised and congratulated all the Cambodian athletes who participated in the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines.
While presiding over a graduation ceremony of the Cambodian University of Specialties this morning, the Premier spoke highly of the athletes’ efforts, stressing that Cambodia earned in total 46 medals from the SEA Games 2019, the highest number comparing to the previous SEA Games.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also comforted Cambodia U22 team and thanked his compatriots for their support to the sports sector.
Of the total 46 medals, there are four gold, six silver and 36 bronze medals.
The four Cambodian gold medalists of the 30th SEA Games are Mr. Yang Mengly in Arnis event; Ms. Sreang Sorakhim, Ms. Duong Dina, Ms. Un Sreya, and Ms. Khuon Yary in Petanque event; Ms. Sorn Seavmey in Taekwondo event, and Ms. Khan Jessa in Jiu-Jitsu event.
Cambodia sent more than 400 sports delegates to join the SEA Games 2019 in the Philippines. The Cambodian athletes competed in many sports events such as taekwondo, Khmer boxing, tennis, wrestling, beach volleyball, U22 football, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, table tennis, badminton, martial arts, golf, sailing, Karate, etc.
Cambodia is going to host the 32nd SEA Games in 2023.
