Cambodian Prime Minister Receives Newly Appointed EU Ambassador

Phnom Penh, December 02, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here at the Peace Palace this morning newly appointed EU Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Ms. Carmen Moreno.

In the meeting, the EU new diplomat expressed her surprise and congratulations to Cambodia on its development. At the same time, she praised Cambodia for being on the right track in the promotion of sustainable development, particularly on climate change, natural resource management and trade issues.

H.E. Ms. Carmen Moreno lauded peace and stability in Cambodia, stressing that they are the necessary foundations for the future of Cambodia. She also promised to continue to be a partner of Cambodia to support the Kingdom’s sustainable development.

In reply, the Cambodian Premier expressed warm welcome to H.E. Ms. Carmen Moreno’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia. He thanked Ms. Moreno for her above comments and EU for its assistance to Cambodia, especially for the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen suggested both sides – Cambodia and EU – to strengthen their existing cooperation and seek new areas of cooperation.
