Cambodian PM Returns Home from Official Inauguration Ceremony of Indonesian President

Phnom Penh, October 20, 2019 –The high-level Cambodian delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen arrived home this evening, after attending, as the Guest of Honour, the official Inauguration Ceremony of Indonesian President.

The delegation was welcomed upon their arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport by H.E. Bin Chhin, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers and many other senior government officials.

While in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Cambodian Premier, along with other Heads of State/Government and representatives of other ASEAN member countries, took part in the official Inauguration Ceremony of H.E Joko Widodo and H.E. Ma’ruf Amin as the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, respectively.

Besides, Samdech Techo Prime Minister met with H.E. Joko Widodo to extend his well-wishes to the Indonesian President. Both leaders also exchanged views on strengthening and expanding the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two ASEAN countries, and voiced their support to Timor-Leste’s request to be a member of ASEAN.

H.E. Joko Widodo was elected as President of the Republic of Indonesia for the second term 2019-2024 at the National Election on April 17 2019. The participation of Samdech Techo Prime Minister and other ASEAN dignitaries in the Inauguration Ceremony reflects the spirit of friendship and solidarity amongst ASEAN nations.
