Cambodia, China Sign 7 Deals to Promote More Cooperation

AKP, May 16, 2017 –The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China have reached seven deals to promote more cooperation between the two nations.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his Chinese counterpart H.E. Li Keqiang witnessed the signing ceremony following their bilateral talks on May 16, the first day of the former’s two-day official visit in China.

According the National Television of Cambodia (TVK)’s special correspondent, those cooperation documents include the Protocol on the establishment of joint marine environment observation station; Document on the main points of bilateral cooperation plan for jointly establishing the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road between Cambodia and China; Agreement on the economic and technical cooperation on the grant aid of 1,200 million Yuan for 2017; Concessional loan agreement in U.S. dollar for construction project of 230 kV high-voltage transmission line-stage 2 in the east of Cambodia; Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in transport sector capacity building; Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in infrastructure and action plan; and Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the tourism sector.

Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen arrived in China on May 13 to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and pay an official visit there until May 17.
