Cambodian PM Attends Commemoration of 70th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China

Phnom Penh, September 25, 2019 –Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse this evening attended the commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, organised here at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre by the Embassy of China.

Addressing to this event, Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated and praised the Government and people of China for countless magnificent achievements under the competent leadership of the Communist Party of China since 1949.

Under the brilliant leadership of H.E. President Xi Jinping, China has realised a rapid and strong development in all sectors and cemented its position as one of the global economic powers, he added.

would like to express my deep gratitude and appreciation to our great friend China for its assistance to Cambodia both in the past and at present. Cambodia and China have enjoyed a fruitful cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels for the sake of interest of the people of both our countries as well as for common peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world. Relations between our countries are based on equal footing and mutual trust for common interest,” the Premier underlined.

Cambodia firmly sticks to the “One China” policy while China firmly respects the independence and sovereignty of Cambodia, he continued.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Cambodia and China established their diplomatic ties on July 19, 1958 after the bilateral meeting between His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk (Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh) and H.E. Premier Zhou Enlai, on the sidelines of the 1954 Bandung Conference in Indonesia.
