Phnom Penh, September 03, 2019 –Cambodian and Malaysian Prime Ministers are satisfied with the growing ties of friendship and cooperation in all domains, especially in the areas of security, economy, trade, investment, tourism, education, labour and culture, etc.
Speaking at a joint press announcement held here this morning after their bilateral meeting, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his visiting Malaysian counterpart H.E. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad expressed their satisfaction and were committed to continue tightening and expanding the close cooperation, both in the bilateral and multilateral frameworks for the interest of two countries’ people and in contribution to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
For regional economic cooperation, Cambodia and Malaysia agreed that it is necessary to conclude by the end of this year the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) – a key tool contributing to boosting regional economic integration and growth as well as protecting multilateral trade.
Cambodia and Malaysia will continue to work together to uphold ASEAN centrality, and achieve a politically cohesive, economically integrated, socially- responsible and a truly rules-based, people-oriented, and people-centred ASEAN, underlined a joint statement released after the press announcement.
