Phnom Penh, August 05, 2019 –Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has encouraged the National Police to further tighten international cooperation, especially on the fight against terrorism.
Addressing to the graduation ceremony of nearly 1,500 new graduates of the Police Academy of Cambodia in Kean Svay district, Kandal province this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his appreciation for all achievements attained by the National Police, and suggested more regional and international cooperation on intelligence and anti-terrorism skills.
“In this situation, I’ve just highlighted the improvement of our ability to enhance the capacity of our police officers in all areas, which make us become partner (with other countries) inside and beyond the region [ … ],” he underlined.
The Premier also expressed welcome to the new cooperation between Cambodia and Turkey, during Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng’s visit to Ankara last week.
On July 30, 2019, the governments of Cambodia and Turkey reached an agreement on security cooperation to enhance ties between both nations.
This agreement was signed by Samdech Sar Kheng, and his Turkish counterpart H.E. Suleyman Soylu, following their bilateral meeting.
At that time, both signed also agreed to further enhance the cooperation in combating terrorism, exchanging experience on public order maintenance, road traffic management, partnership strengthening between the government and civil society organisations, training, and so on.
