Phnom Penh, June 23, 2019 –The leaders of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam have been committed to transform the CLV Triangle Area into a new economic pole, particularly to further enhance the living standard of local people.
According to the National Television of Kampuchea (TVK), the joint commitment was made by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Lao Prime Minister H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith, and Vietnamese Prime Minister H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc in their working breakfast this morning, prior to the opening ceremony of the 34th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Thailand.
The three leaders spoke highly of the positive outcomes of the efforts of the three countries’ working groups in developing the Triangle Area, especially in transforming this poor area into an area with physical and people-to-people connectivity.
The three Premiers also exchanged their views on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation as well as regional and international issues of common interest.
