Hungarian President Supports Cambodia’s Hosting of Asia-Europe Summit 2020

Phnom Penh, June 15, 2019 –Hungary supports Cambodia for being the host of the Asia-Europe Summit in 2020, affirmed H.E. Janos Ader, President of Hungary, while holding talks with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in Budapest, Hungary yesterday.

 

H.E. Janos Ader also reaffirmed his country’s support to Cambodia in terms of Everything But Arms (EBA) scheme.

The Hungarian President highly valued the visit of Samdech Techo Hun Sen in Hungary and conveyed his greetings to His Majesty the King of Cambodia.

For his part, the Cambodian Premier recalled the relations between the two countries as well as Hungary’s assistance to Cambodia since 1979, after the collapse of the Khmer Rouge regime of genocide.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen briefed H.E. Janos Ader on the outcome of his bilateral meeting with his Hungarian counterpart, especially on the future establishment of an embassy in each other’s country and cooperation in the areas of culture, tourism, education and so on.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister and H.E. Janos Ader also agreed to further boost the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly their participation in combating climate change, natural resource management, which are the global concerns.
