PM Arrival in Hungary Greeted with Warm Hospitality by Cambodian Fellows

Phnom Penh, June 14, 2019—Arrival of Cambodian Prime Minister and his delegation in Hungary has received warm hospitality from Cambodian residents and students there.

When landing in the central European country on Jun. 13, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his team was greeted specially those Cambodians – the moment that made the Prime Minister very moved and inspired.

The trip is the first of its kind for Samdech Techo Hun Sen representing Cambodia as the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, according to the update on his Facebook page.

Samdech Techo used to travel to Hungary eight times between 1979 and 1984, but in the role of Cambodia’s foreign minister.

Taking the opportunity of the happening state visit, Samdech Techo Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt misses to and appreciation of Cambodians there, and encouraged especially Cambodian students studying there to study hard and respect the laws and regulations of Hungary.

As of now, there are around 40 Cambodians living in Hungary – 35 of them were granted Hungarian citizenship – and 29 students studying in the central European country.

In term of its support to build Cambodia’s human resources, Hungary since 1980 has offered scholarships to nearly 250 Cambodian students, particularly in the fields of agriculture, humanity, engineering, economy and natural science.

During his two-day state visit, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his counterpart Hungarian Prime Minister H.E. Viktor Orban look into boosting bilateral as well as multi-lateral relations and cooperation.

As planned the two leaders will witness official signing of two major agreements on economic and education exchange.

After the visit in the country, Samdech Techo on Jun. 15 will lead his delegation for the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Dushanbe city of Tajikistan – where he will address key remarks and attend various side-line meetings.
