PM Hun Sen Concludes Japan Visit with Success

 Phnom Penh, May 31, 2019 –The high-level Cambodian delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen concluded their four-day working visit to Japan with success.

The delegation arrived home this evening and was welcomed upon their arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport by Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and many other senior government officials.

“My presence in Japan has strengthened the friendship and cooperation with the Japanese friends. Thanks the Government and people of Japan for their assistance to the reconstruction of Cambodia. Thanks all Japanese private companies that have been investing [in Cambodia] and providing tens of thousands of jobs for Cambodian people,” said Samdech Techo Hun Sen in a Facebook post this afternoon.

During his stay in Japan from May 28 to 31, the Cambodia Premier attended the 25th International Conference under the theme “In Search of the New Global Order – Overcoming the Chaos” and shared his perspective on the current global context, future prospect, the way forward and Cambodia’s commitment and contribution to promoting harmony, peace and shared prosperity in the Asia and the Pacific region, and the world beyond.

After the conference, Samdech Techo Hun Sen held a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart H.E. Abe Shinzo on various bilateral, regional and international issues of common interests, and the two leaders witnessed the signing of the Exchange of Notes on the extension of Japanese grant aid of almost US$5 million for container freight station construction project and human resource development project in Cambodia.

Besides, Samdech Techo Prime Minister gave an address at a seminar on Investment in Cambodia organised by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in collaboration with Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) and Mizuho Bank. He also met many Japanese dignitaries and received calls from representatives of various Japanese companies.
