Cambodian Prime Minister Returns Home from Bangkok

Phnom Penh, May 27, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, arrived home this afternoon after participating in the 75th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP) in Bangkok, Thailand.

Addressing to the opening ceremony of the UN-ESCAP’s 75th Session held under the theme “Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”, Samdech Techo Hun Sen shared Cambodia’s success in ending the civil war and promoting inclusivity for all Cambodian people, at any social levels and any political preferences, through the Win-Win Policy.

The Cambodian Premier also reaffirmed the significance of peace and stability, stressing that they are indispensable foundations for development, and in turn an inclusive and equitable development are necessary conditions for strengthening and ensuring peace and social stability.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister spoke highly of the role of UN-ESCAP in contributing to the promotion of socio-economic development in Asia-Pacific region, and appreciated the United Nations and development partners for their continued cooperation and support to Cambodia and her people.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister was accompanied by H.E. Senior Minister Ly Thuch, President of the National Committee for Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs, and other senior government officials.
