Phnom Penh, April 29, 2019 –Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received yesterday in Beijing, China representatives of some Chinese leading companies, on the sidelines of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Those major Chinese companies included China Huaneng Group, China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, and solar and wind energy company.
China Huaneng Group is joining hands with Royal Group to operate the Lower Sesan 2 hydropower dam in Cambodia. According to the official Facebook page of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the company was committed to continue taking part in energy development in Cambodia.
For its part, the solar and wind energy company of China expressed its interest to invest in creating a solar panel production plant in Cambodia, while Samdech Techo Hun Sen recommended the company to work with the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Electricity Authority of Cambodia.
In his meeting with China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, the Cambodian Premier highlighted some key policies and potential areas for the Chinese company and voiced his support for the company’s ongoing projects in Cambodia.
For the talk with China Railway Construction Corporation, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined the rail potential in order to attract more investments to further improve and develop the rail services in the Kingdom.
