Phnom Penh, April 24, 2019 –Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning at the Peace Palace visiting H.E. Chen Yuan, President of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC).
According to H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, this is the 2nd visit of H.E. Chen Yuan in Cambodia.
The CAIFC president noted the economic progress in Cambodia and lauded Cambodia’s key role in maintaining peace and boosting friendship and cooperation in the region.
H.E. Chen Yuan also suggested the development of economic corridor between Cambodia and Laos and pledged to encourage more Chinese investments in Cambodia.
In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen called for more and continued investments from China in Cambodia. He laid stress on the Royal Government’s in-depth reform programme aiming at improving investment atmosphere in the country.
The Cambodian Premier requested the Chinese side to increase the import of Cambodian products and to support infrastructure construction and development, particularly wastewater treatment plant in Preah Sihanouk province.
