China Pledges to Boost Imports of Cambodian Products

Phnom Penh, April 23, 2019 –China has promised to boost cooperation with Cambodia in terms of agriculture and export of more Cambodian products to the Chinese market.

The pledge was made by visiting H.E. Qin Yizhi, Deputy Head of State Market Regulatory Administration of the People’s Republic of China, while paying a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh this morning.

H.E. Qin Yizhi spoke highly of the long-lasting relations between Cambodia and China and the right policy taken by the two countries’ leaders, from which both nations have benefitted a lot, especially in the areas of agriculture, energy and infrastructure.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed the relationship between the two countries is a key factor for the development of Cambodia.

The Premier encouraged the Chinese side to continue working with the Cambodian counterpart in promoting the export of Cambodian products to China through the strengthening of sanitary and phytosanitary measures on Cambodian agricultural products.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also voiced his support for the cooperation between the Cambodian Ministry of Industry and Handicraft and the State Market Regulatory Administration of China in human resource development.
